city of bLinding lights

cos its the f1 night races over here in singapore! this is what the street circuit looked like over the weekends- i seriously thought there was no way that f1 could race in such teeny-weeny roads we had in the city.

i was there at Gate 3 together with liyi during the qualifying rounds!! (of cos not in the area where i pay to watch lol) the sound from the engines were WAYYYYY COOOL ok!!!!!!!!!!!!! brought me back where i used to be the 'fastest -as in speed & learning time- learner driver in CDC 2003' wahahahahahaha! for the love of cool gadgets & speed eh? maybe thats why my dad restricts me driving his car so much nowadays. i only get to drive on the malaysian highway (now how monotonous is that... i could almost fall asleep) i think i saw more of blips of orange lights flashing past quickly instead of the f1 cars themselves. well maybe cos it was a long straight road along the high court area, best place to speed.

at the end of Gate 3 aka the High Court

despite all,

i still think massa emerged champion in many peoples' hearts- at least mine. he jump started and pulled off steadily from the pack and was in his prime leading the pack till the refuelling fiasco. blame it on the pit-crew or what? No comments. who asked ferrari to chuck the conventional 'lollipop' stick & rely on overhead signals for indictations to their drivers. techy failure or communication failure? my dad says the hose was stuck no matter what light came on. well chuck it, im not going into an f1 debate on ferrari's OP.

where it all transpired

for the sake of those who dunno what the heck im talking about: apparently the pit-crew didnt have time to disengage massa's fuelling hose & gave him the green light to go, causing him to drive off with the fuelling hose (and i mean with petrol spurting everywhere and also knocking one of the crew members down) and also into the lane of another oncoming race car. so from the lead of the pack he became the end of the pack. nasty nasty system.

u should have seen the face of the ferrari guys when massa was waiting for the pit-crew at the end of the lane to disengage the fuel hose from his car... its almost like 'i dun believe in god but omg i think there is a god' lol... analogy aside, massa looked 40% traumatised & 60% in disbelief (and mayb a wee bit exasperated thou trying his utmost best to remain calm <-- like WHAT?! --> i couldnt have maintained his composure im certain. my heart wouldve dropped a metre as every second ticked by) when the relentless tugging wouldnt loosen the nozzle off his car

but its still pretty impressive how massa from 18th place climbed back to 13th at the end of the night (minus off all the other crashes & pull outs). it was clear to see that massa lost a punch to his spirit with his under-steered turnings and etc after the drama, but he still tried to finish the race well. of cos he was affected along the way.. but that din stop him from finishing it anyways (just like we'r also supposed to).. kudos to the man!

after the 61 laps

yea i know u aint exactly thrilled by your performance & how things turned out... but, u'r a real fighter!
